POSITION PURPOSE

This position is primarily responsible for Network Operation support, service operations, quality control, maximized performance resolution, hardware and software installation and maintain within Service Level Agreements to ensure services and support are being met and delivered in a consistent manner to clients.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist users achieve optimum use of their computer networks by performing needs analysis, procurement support, installation, training, and problem resolution for internal and external customers.

  • Analyze users’ needs, recommend appropriate network configurations to meet users’ needs and departmental standards.

  • Review LAN/WAN/Wifi/VoIP assessments for member centers and implement necessary changes, adhering to HCN standards and industry best practice.

  • Configure, implement and maintain firewalls, switches, virtual private networks, web protocols, and email security.

  • Upgrade data network equipment to the latest stable firmware releases.

  • Ensuring daily operations of the multi-protocol, multi-vendor network to ensure data network availability.

  • Use network management systems to review, monitor, analyze and troubleshoot the operation of data network devices and circuits.

  • Perform preventative and fault isolation maintenance on the networks, servers, domains, electronic post offices, and user files.

  • Create and execute changes to the data network using industry standard change control practices.

  • Document requests clearly and thoroughly through our ticketing systems.

  • Work closely with all IT teams to display continuous service and support to member centers.

  • Prepare regularly scheduled reports for supervisor.

  • Report network operational status by gathering and prioritizing information.

  • Keep current on new developments and techniques in information technology.

  • Participate in an on-call rotation for afterhours and weekend support.

  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION

  • Strong customer service skills; prompt return and follow up to all interactions; prompt response to requests for information
  • Knowledge of Professional and UB04 billing, electronic claims processing, CPT & ICD9/10, HCPCS, CDT coding, medical terminology and compliance rules.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of billing and accounts receivable systems.
  • Knowledge of Healthcare and Community Health Center industry and practices.
  • Knowledge of healthcare contract terms, preferably for primary care, vision, dental and/or behavioral health.
  • Analytical skills, time management, written & verbal skills.
  • FQHC billing knowledge.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS


  • 5 years of experience in an IT-related position and/or Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field, or equivalent combined experience.

  • Required IT certifications include Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher.

  • Proven experience of network protocols including SMTP, FTP, HTTP, TCP/IP.

  • Experience troubleshooting LAN/WAN issues in a Windows 2008 (or higher) network infrastructure.

  • Preferred qualifications: Previous experience in community health center, medical office or dental office setting and/or knowledge of Healthcare Information Systems.
